What is WaveWear?
WaveWear is an initiative born in Platja d’Aro, driven by a young entrepreneur with a clear mission: to reduce plastic pollution in our sea and promote more sustainable fashion.
WaveWear specializes in creating beach towels and other fashion items using recycled plastics. Each WaveWear product is made from plastics collected along Mediterranean coasts, contributing to the cleaning of our beaches and reducing marine pollution.
The Sustainable Process of WaveWear
The magic behind WaveWear begins with the collection of marine plastics, which are cleaned and transformed into plastic flakes.
These flakes are then turned into a marine plastic called Seaqual, which is combined with recycled cotton to create high-quality beach towels. In total, WaveWear towels are made of 40% marine plastic and 60% recycled cotton.
