A few months ago we installed a new drip irrigation system at the Bell Repòs hotel, a sustainable hotel.

As you already know, the Hotel Bell Repòs de Platja d’Aro is a sustainable hotel and we are constantly taking care to adopt measures that guarantee savings on this precious asset that is water, especially in this year of severe drought that we are experiencing.

New irrigation system at the Bell Repòs hotel

For this reason, one of the main measures in terms of sustainability that we have promoted this year from the Bell Repòs hotel in Playa de Aro to contribute to saving water has been the installation of a new drip irrigation system or whatever is same drop by drop, which waters our garden in its entirety.

With the intention of continuing to stand firm in our commitment to the sustainability of the Hotel Bell Repòs in Playa de Aro and, consequently, of our immediate surroundings, our irrigation practices are based on using the minimum amount of water in the shortest possible time, to provide the right amount of water at the right time of day to all the plants in our garden.

Local gardening company

The gardening company that has installed irrigation for us has been that of Gardener David Goiba, a company from our town and a local one.

Each area is perfectly divided into sectors and the ditch of the Hotel Bell Repòs in Platja d’Aro irrigates for very little time and does so at night, when it is already dark, so as not to lose an iota of water through evaporation and this humidity is much more effective for garden plants.

Only 3 minutes a day to water

As you already know, at the entrance we also have a small area of grass where we have installed new, much more efficient sprinklers that will water only 3 minutes a day when necessary, more than enough time for the grass to have just the daily dose of contribution of water you need.

The rest of the indoor plants or pots are watered with watering cans and carefully and only when it is essential.

Replacement of alien plants

We are also implementing another measure that we are gradually putting into practice, which is the replacement of alien plants, which have a more complicated adaptation to our climate and are unnatural to our environment, with native species that offer greater adaptability and much more resistance to our conditions since they are perfectly acclimatized to our eco-system.
