With this accreditation, Hotel Bell Repòs becomes one of the first gluten-free certified hotels on the Costa Brava. Our kitchen and service processes follow strict protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure the safety of guests with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity.
At our eco-friendly, local and km-0 breakfast buffet, you’ll find a dedicated gluten-free corner with bread, cereals, cookies and homemade gluten-free and lactose-free cakes, prepared daily with natural, locally sourced ingredients. We also use exclusive tools —such as dedicated toasters and separate preparation areas— to guarantee maximum food safety.

The Catalan Celiac Association, founded in 1977, is a pioneering entity in defending the rights and quality of life of people with celiac disease. Its “Gluten Free 2025” certification is a quality seal that recognises establishments committed to safe, gluten-free food standards.
To receive this accreditation, hotels must follow strict requirements, including:
- Specialized staff training
- Cleaning and storage protocols without contamination risk
- Separate spaces and utensils for gluten-free food
- A varied and balanced gluten-free offer

Years ago, we began a journey that today defines who we are: an inclusive, sustainable hotel adapted to all dietary needs. As gluten-free tourism in Catalonia grew, we saw more travellers searching for safe gluten-free hotels on the Costa Brava.
From there came our commitment: offering gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan options made in-house with local ingredients. Over time, we have learned and improved to ensure every guest feels welcomed, no matter their diet.
Today, we proudly define ourselves as a lactose-free and gluten-free hotel in Platja d’Aro, where sustainability, inclusion and good food come together naturally.
Commitment to sustainability and health
Our new “Gluten Free 2025” accreditation adds to the many initiatives that form our model of sustainable tourism on the Costa Brava:
- Eliminating over 24,500 single-use plastic bottles, replaced with reusable glass bottles
- Saving over 700 kg of food through responsible waste reduction and the Too Good To Go initiative
- Saving more than 54,000 litres of water through efficient systems and guest collaboration
- Producing clean energy thanks to solar panels and efficient equipment
