Because we believe that <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/hotelbellrepos.com\/en\/sustainable-hotel\/\">sustainability should also be measurable<\/a><\/strong>. \ud83d\udc47<\/p><h2><b>44% reduction in water consumption<\/b><\/h2><p>Over the past four years, we have focused on water conservation and responsible management, which has enabled us to reduce our water consumption by 44%.<\/p><p>We have reduced our water consumption from:<\/p><ul><li><strong>1.7 million liters per season<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>to 800,000 liters<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p>This represents a savings of 900,000 liters per season. This result is the outcome of various measures, such as:<\/p><ul><li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/hotelbellrepos.com\/en\/sustainable_tourism\/\">The Green Bucket Project<\/a>:<\/strong> We encourage our guests to reuse the water that runs while they wait for the shower to heat up by filling the green buckets available at the front desk, which saves between 15 and 20 liters per use.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/hotelbellrepos.com\/en\/water-saving-at-hotel-bell-repos\/\"><strong>The Sustainable Room<\/strong><\/a>: which invites guests to reduce daily housekeeping to lower water consumption.<\/li><li>Greater efficiency and <a href=\"https:\/\/hotelbellrepos.com\/en\/water-saving-at-hotel-bell-repos\/\"><strong>more mindful resource management<\/strong><\/a>: for example, water reuse systems such as recovering condensation water from air conditioning units or using osmosis wastewater for irrigation.<\/li><\/ul><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-41714\" src=\"https:\/\/hotelbellrepos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Captura-de-pantalla-2026-04-29-a-las-16.35.39.webp\" alt=\"projecte aigua regadiu\" width=\"233\" height=\"328\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hotelbellrepos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Captura-de-pantalla-2026-04-29-a-las-16.35.39.webp 688w, https:\/\/hotelbellrepos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Captura-de-pantalla-2026-04-29-a-las-16.35.39-600x844.webp 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 233px) 100vw, 233px\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-41718\" src=\"https:\/\/hotelbellrepos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Captura-de-pantalla-2026-04-29-a-las-16.35.42.webp\" alt=\"projecte galleda verda\" width=\"226\" height=\"323\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hotelbellrepos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Captura-de-pantalla-2026-04-29-a-las-16.35.42.webp 680w, https:\/\/hotelbellrepos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Captura-de-pantalla-2026-04-29-a-las-16.35.42-600x858.webp 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 226px) 100vw, 226px\" \/><br \/><br \/><\/p><h3>Well below the local verage<\/h3><p>According to the Catalan Water Agency, the average water consumption in Platja d&#8217;Aro is 311 liters per person per day, but at Bell Rep\u00f2s, in 2025, <strong>we recorded just 102.32 liters per guest-night<\/strong>. This figure is well below the average and encourages us to continue working in this direction.<\/p><h2>Clean energy and energy efficiency<\/h2><p>Energy is another area where we\u2019ve made progress in recent years thanks to our solar panels (if you stop by and are interested, we\u2019d be happy to show them to you!).<\/p><p>Over the past four years, we\u2019ve managed to save 108,194 kWh, as we now:<\/p><ul><li>generate <strong>40% of the hotel\u2019s energy with our own solar panels<\/strong><\/li><li>and <strong>100% of the energy we consume comes from renewable sources<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p>For a small family-run hotel, these figures show that the energy transition can also be achieved on a small scale.<\/p><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-41722\" src=\"https:\/\/hotelbellrepos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Captura-de-pantalla-2026-04-29-a-las-16.35.23.webp\" alt=\"turisme sostenible costa brava placas solares\" width=\"340\" height=\"331\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hotelbellrepos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Captura-de-pantalla-2026-04-29-a-las-16.35.23.webp 788w, https:\/\/hotelbellrepos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Captura-de-pantalla-2026-04-29-a-las-16.35.23-768x747.webp 768w, https:\/\/hotelbellrepos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Captura-de-pantalla-2026-04-29-a-las-16.35.23-600x583.webp 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 340px) 100vw, 340px\" \/><\/p><h2>Less plastic, more circular economy<\/h2><p>Thanks to our <strong>free filtered water<\/strong> system and reusable bottles, in four years we have avoided:<\/p><ul><li><strong>24,080 1.5-liter plastic bottles<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p>This is one of the figures that best illustrates how small, sustained changes can have a real impact.
