At Hotel Bell Rep\u00f2s,<\/a><\/strong> we are proud to be pioneers in sustainability in Platja d\u2019Aro. Our commitment to the environment is not only reflected in our daily practices, but also in the new initiatives we have implemented to minimize our ecological footprint.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Today, we would like to share with you some of the most recent sustainable actions we are undertaking to protect our planet and promote more responsible tourism.<\/p>\n

\"Sustainable<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Recycling and Waste Management<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We recycle 100% of the waste generated at the hotel. Each material is separated and processed appropriately to ensure nothing is wasted unnecessarily, helping to reduce our carbon footprint<\/a><\/strong> and promoting a cleaner environment.<\/p>\n

Additionally, we collaborate with the Consell Comarcal del Baix Empord\u00e0<\/a><\/strong> to compost organic matter from our garden.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Renewable Energy<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We have installed 52 photovoltaic panels<\/strong>, which generate approximately one-third of the energy consumed by the hotel. This results in a significant savings of nearly 5.8 tons of CO\u2082 emissions<\/strong> to the atmosphere each year, making an important contribution to reducing greenhouse gases.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eco-Friendly Paint<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The walls of our hotel are painted with eco-friendly, non-toxic paint by CAPAROL<\/a><\/strong>, ensuring a healthy environment for our guests and staff, while also reducing the negative impact on the environment.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

EcoLabel Cleaning Products<\/strong><\/p>\n

We use cleaning products certified with the EcoLabel<\/a> <\/strong> environmental tag, ensuring that our cleaning practices are safe for the environment and human health.<\/p>\n

\n

“Green Bucket” Project<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We have launched the \u201cGreen Bucket\u201d project<\/a><\/strong>, an initiative aimed at avoiding unnecessary water waste in the shower. This project helps us save a significant amount of water, a vital resource we must preserve, made possible with the collaboration of our guests.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Free Filtered Water and Reusable Bottles<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We provide free filtered water to all our guests during their stay at Hotel Bell Rep\u00f2s and sell reusable bottles.<\/a><\/strong> The proceeds from the sale of these bottles are donated to NGOs, thus promoting the use of reusable containers and supporting charitable causes. In 2023, we made a donation to Open Arms.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Support for Local Circular Economy Projects<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We support local recycling and circular economy<\/a><\/strong> projects, such as the “Jeansbag 19” project by Maria Aubeso<\/a><\/strong>, who makes bags and other clothing items from recycled jeans. We also sell beach towels from the local brand Wave Wear, made with recycled plastic and organic cotton. These initiatives help reduce waste and foster creativity and sustainability.<\/p>\n

Km0 Shop<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In the hotel reception, we have a Km0 shop<\/a><\/strong> offering sustainable and eco-friendly products from local suppliers. Here you can find jams from Can Juanals, olive oil, Vioritme wine, ceramics from La Bisbal, and local cork products, strengthening the local economy and offering our guests high-quality, local, and sustainable products.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Butterfly Oasis<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In spring, we promote a \u201cbutterfly oasis\u201d<\/a><\/strong> in our garden, replacing our previous plants with native plants and a drip irrigation system. Additionally, the drip irrigation system in the garden uses water from a tank that collects runoff from the air conditioning. This space not only beautifies the hotel but also supports local biodiversity.<\/p>\n

Sustainable Mobility<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As a Bed&Bike<\/a><\/strong> hotel, we offer a bike rental service to promote eco-friendly transportation and reduce car usage, along with a space to store and maintain bicycles.<\/p>\n

We also have electric charging points for cars and motorcycles, promoting sustainable mobility, and collaborate with the Castell d\u2019Aro BTT Center to offer our guests an eco-friendly way to explore the area.<\/p>\n

Reducing Food Waste<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We eliminate breakfast food waste by selling<\/a><\/strong> it through the Too Good To Go app. Proceeds are donated to local associations like Sterna<\/a><\/strong> or Associaci\u00f3 Noa18Nusos<\/a><\/strong>, contributing to the fight against waste and supporting the community.<\/p>\n

Lighting Optimization<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We keep electricity consumption low with the LED lighting system used at Hotel Bell Rep\u00f2s.<\/a><\/strong> Additionally, by not illuminating the facade, we reduce light pollution in the neighborhood and energy consumption.<\/p>\n

Cooking Oil Recycling<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As part of our recycling measures, we collect and recycle the olive oil used in our fryer. We have an agreement with the company F. Espinosa<\/strong>, which collects the used oil and converts it into biodiesel, helping to reduce waste and promote the use of cleaner fuels.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reusing Cleaning Containers<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In addition, we collaborate with the company Llagosnet,<\/a><\/strong> which has asked us to save all empty cleaning product containers. These containers are reused, helping us significantly reduce plastic waste from cleaning supplies.<\/p>\n
